LATEST Kenyan News
The
money from this years Lenten Appeal together with the donation from the
St James International committee has been given for the Wings of Mercy
and is sufficient to build a new classroom for the Blue Sky School they
support in the Massai slum Nairobi. This was a school we visited when we
were there in March and had a very warm welcome from the staff and
pupils We were very impressed with how they managed under such difficult
circumstances. The need is great wherever you look in the slums but this
extra classroom and the school itself will benefit generations of
youngsters for many years to come. We were delighted to be able to pass
this news on to Roger and Christine who send their thanks and
appreciation to the congregation at St James and will keep us updated
with progress. We will have the opportunity to share more about our
visit with you at one of the future services
When
we visited other projects we could see other ways that we can help to
support and encourage Wings of Mercy notably the tailoring workshop and
the craft classes. Hence our request for the decluttering and recycling
of materials to take out with us in August. (See handout on sewing box
items for more details)

beekeeping project in Kenya.
Finally John will be travelling to Uganda 25th May until 4th June. He
will be travelling visiting honey co-operatives and finally running a
training workshop for 40 invited beekeepers/honey packers back in
Kampala.
We
thank you for your part in the openings we have had to make a difference
to the disadvantaged people we have the privilege of serving by your
financial support, the many answered prayers and the blessings we have
received.
